В стартовом раунде ветеран пассивничал: неспешно пятился от соперника, протирал спиной канаты ринга. Петтис поддавливал, джебил, несколько раз пытался зажать Джонса у канатов. Тот неплохо защищался.

Во втором раунде легенда попробовал атаковать. Получалось не очень. Преследовал Петтиса, спрятавшись за высоким блоком. Минимум обострений. Экс-чемпион UFC огрызается ударами по корпусу. Хорошая идея.

В 3-м раунде солировал Петтис. Джонс защищается у канатов. Пока что держится. Попробовал атаковать в 4-й трёхминутке. Увеличилось количество клинчей. Много размашистых промахов. Джонс попробовал боксировать с низко опущенными руками. Зевнул что-то похожее на кросс.

Бойцы устроили что-то типа небольшого замеса на последних секундах 7-го раунда. Петтис активно провёл решающую трёхминутку. Всё хорошо, никто не падал.

Счёт судей: 76-76, 77-75 и 78-74 в пользу экс-чемпиона UFC. Петтис MD 8.
